ACCFM Laurel Colour Med

The ACCFM Three Minute Film Festival is hosted by The Alberta Conservatory for Christian Filmmakers. The festival and awards ceremony will be held the evening of Saturday Sept. 17, 2016 in association with the Fourth Annual ACCFM Filmmakers Intensive in Didsbury, Alberta. It is open to all filmmakers worldwide. Attendance is restricted to those registered for the Intensive.

  1. The competition is open to all ages from all locations.
  2. Films must be 3 minutes or less in length. Films longer than 3 minutes will not be considered. (Titles and credits are considered part of the total length.)
  3. Films honoring Christ with a biblical message will receive favorable judgement. Films that violate biblical principles and values will not be considered. Points will be awarded for “matching the purpose of the festival,” namely “to bring a biblical worldview to the issues of our generation.”
  4. Films with cleavage, overt sexuality, profanity or explicit violence will not be considered.
  5. Films produced or directed by judges will not be considered.
  6. Decisions of the judges are final.
  7. Feedback will not be provided for individual films.
  8. The filmmaker is responsible for obtaining permission to use third party materials (e.g. music) and for all other legal requirements.
  9. Multiple films may be submitted. Each must be submitted separately.
  10. By submitting a film to ACCFM, the filmmaker agrees to allow the film to be screened at the festival September 17, 2016 and to allow short portions of the film to be used by ACCFM for promotional purposes.
  11. The application fee is non-refundable.
  12. Winners may or may not be awarded for each of the competition categories at the discretion of the judges, based on the number and quality of entries.

  • Narrative
  • Documentary
  • Young Filmmaker (17 and under)
  • Rookie Filmmaker (First Film for Public Performance)

Finalists will be contacted by email and will be posted on and on Finalist films will be shown at the ACCFM Three Minute Film Festival. Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the festival.

Entry Fee & Deadline
  • Early Bird Entry Fee: $20 (by June 30, 2016)
  • Regular Entry Fee: $40 (July 1 – August 5, 2016)
  • Deadline for all submissions – August 5, 2016
  • A cash prize of $200 will be awarded to the winner of the festival. ACCFM Laurel SmallScholarships for the 2017 ACCFM Filmmakers Intensive will also be awarded.
